Agnus Dei from Redemption Mass By: Julian David Bryson
Inspired by the German word, "Erwaege" (Consider), this Agnus Dei includes the classic text most famously set by Bach in his St. John Passion and the Doxology. In between, the choir erects a stunning wall of sound using themes from previous Redemption Mass movements that erupts into a passionate cry to the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.  The plea for peace (dona nobis pacem) references the Gloria motive, now far more subdued relaxing into the final assurance of rest and absolution.

Redemption Mass is the winner of the 2013 American Choral Directors Association Brock Memorial Student Composition Competition.
